I remember walking into a yoga studio for the first time when I was fifteen years old. As a State Champion runner and avid soccer player, it was my love for movement and fascination with the mind-body connection that first sparked my interest.
Despite academic and athletic success, I struggled with sports injuries, body image, and an anxious mind. During college, the yoga mat became a place of refuge, and I discovered the deeper transformative power of the practice. After graduating summa cum laude from UCLA with a BA in Communication Studies, I pursued my passion for holistic wellness, as I began studying Ayurveda at the Mount Madonna Institute. A brief stint in the high pressure world of corporate sales further fueled my desire to share these healing practices. I then embarked on my own journey of self-exploration, as I traveled throughout Israel, Indonesia, and India. I lived at the Anand Prakash Ashram in Rishikesh, where I had the privilege of studying and completing a Yoga Teacher Training (RYT200).
As an Ayurvedic Health Consultant, I intertwine my knowledge of this ancient system of healing with the Yoga wisdom tradition to promote balance of body, mind, and spirit. I teach Yin/Restorative and Hatha Flow at Divinitree and Pleasure Point Yoga in my hometown, Santa Cruz, California. I am grateful for all of my teachers who have paved the path and continue to inspire me with their devotion and wisdom,Yogrishi Vishvketu and Janet Stone in particular. I am currently deepening my studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, as I am in their graduate program working towards a Masters in Integral Counseling Psychology.
Drawing upon Ayurvedic and Tantric Wisdom, I am passionate about empowering people to practice the art of slowing down, look inward, and trust their internal intelligence. From this sankalpa (intention), and a beautiful friendship, a new seed was planted, deepened its roots, and organically grew over this past year >> ELEMENTAL BEING. In the spirit of re-wilding and reconnecting with ELEMENTS, I enjoy hiking in my redwood sanctuary and swimming in my ocean temple. Using food as medicine, I love experimenting in the kitchen with seasonal spices, herbs, and farmers market fruits and veggies. Let's align with cycles and harmonize with Nature, so we can listen to the wisdom of the Earth, to find greater balance + peace.
